The TomTom GO 530 - United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland Automotive GPS Receiver is geared toward being as simple and easy to use as possible. Straight out of the box it is already loaded with all the required maps for the UK and Ireland, ready to be mounted in a car or slipped into a pocket for instant use. As well as being user friendly, it also incorporates some advanced features, allowing the creation and adjustment of routes on the move. The unit is pre-loaded with the locations of speed cameras, and can be upgraded with an RDS-TMC traffic receiver, allowing it to receive real-time traffic updates. The slimline TomTom GO 530 can be powered by the internal battery, or from a 12 volt cigarette lighter socket using the included charger. The full color 4.3 inch touchscreen GPS display uses a widescreen format to give the broadest possible view of the upcoming route, and the built-in 2 gigabyte memory can be expanded via the SD and MMC card slots. Destinations can be entered using the touchscreen GPS options, or by simply speaking aloud into the integrated microphone, allowing for safe entry while driving. Instructions are relayed via the integrated speaker, as the text-to-speech software reads directions aloud. In addition to working as a satellite navigation system, the TomTom GO 530 can also use its built-in Bluetooth connectivity to pair with a cellphone and work as a hands-free kit as well as a GPS receiver.
